About CoVaRR-Net

CoVaRR-Net (Coronavirus Variants Rapid Response Network) was established in March 2021 to support Canada's response to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. It mobilized expertise nationwide to conduct high-impact research, support public health decision-making, and build infrastructure for infectious disease research. The network aimed to assess how variants affect people in Canada and globally, detect and stop their spread, and prepare for future pandemics. Operations concluded on March 31, 2025, due to funding discontinuation.
