The Global Design Initiative for Refugee Children (GDIRC) was formed in 2016 by Boston's design community in response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis. Their mission is to use design to create communal spaces for refugee families and children in temporary encampments worldwide, including at-risk communities in the US.
