About The Gilbert Centre for Social and Support Services

The Gilbert Centre is a community-based, not-for-profit, charitable organization in Simcoe Muskoka, operational since 1995. It focuses on providing programs and services to support individuals living with and affected by HIV, as well as members and families from the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) communities, celebrating their lives and advocating for acceptance.

HIV/AIDS & Hepatitis C Support Services:Support for knowing HIV/HCV status, navigating healthcare, accessing treatments, and advocating for acceptance with the message 'Undetectable = Untransmittable'.

Queer & Trans Programming:Programs for 2S-LGBTQ+ individuals, including QT Youth Connection (ages 12-19) and GenQ (ages 20-29), offering social programming and systems navigation without referral requirements.

Harm Reduction Outreach & Drop-in Programs:Provides information on drug use, sexual activity, and self-harm, along with harm reduction kits, sexual health materials (condoms, lube), naloxone kits, and training.

Safer Spaces:Offers organizational assessments, professional development workshops, and consultation services to create inclusive programs and workplaces for 2S-LGBTQ+ communities, including self-guided courses.
