About Kativik Regional Government

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq, the Nunavik School Board, was established in 1975 under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement. It serves the educational needs of the Nunavik region, employing over 1,250 staff (90% of the region's workforce). The board provides education in Inuktitut, French, and English from kindergarten to grade 11, offers adult education programs, and sponsors over 125 students in postsecondary institutions outside Nunavik. Its curriculum is rooted in Inuit values, language, and worldview.
