About MEOPAR

The Marine Environmental Observation, Prediction and Response Network (MEOPAR) is a national network in Canada sponsored by the Strategic Science Fund. It connects top marine researchers and highly qualified personnel with partner organizations and communities to fund leading-edge research, overcome barriers to collaborative research, and train the next generation of marine professionals with the goal of shaping the future of Canada's oceans.

Products & Services

Research Programs:MEOPAR funds and supports various research projects and calls for proposals to enhance marine research capacity.

Training and Opportunities:Offers training programs, webinars, and funding opportunities for marine professionals and researchers.

Partnerships:Facilitates organization-to-organization collaborations through initiatives like the Call for Partnerships and systems like the Canadian Integrated Ocean Observing System (CIOOS).

Knowledge Mobilization:Promotes sharing of marine research through symposia, communities of practice, and science videos.

Expedition Funds:Provides funding for major expeditions and rapid response research under various horizons like Major Expeditions Horizon and Strategic Support Horizon.

Community-led Research Funds:Supports community-led and indigenous-focused marine research projects through seed funds and multi-year programs.
